About Ashley

Ashley Nordby, MSW, LCSW

Since 2009, I have been providing therapy to young children and their caregivers in settings of preschools, public schools, outpatient settings, and within the home. Yet in 2013, when I became a parent myself, I found that parenting was much more difficult than I could have imagined. Through my personal challenges and experiences with healing, as well as my professional experiences in helping children and their caregivers,  I was inspired to create The Healing Place. . . A place to process through the challenges of daily life, both as an individual and as a parent in our fast-paced world. A place to learn what blocks you from living the life you dreamed of, and to learn strategies to release those blocks. A place to learn how to value yourself, care for yourself, and speak your truth, without needing others to change in order for you to be happy.

I value integrating the whole person in the therapeutic process, and focus on wellness in areas of mental health, physical, emotional and the spiritual. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental environment where my clients can feel at ease to share whatever it is they need to. I seek to empower my clients to tune in to their own physical and emotional bodies in order to gain insight into their needs and challenges. It is my passion to help clients connect how their struggles today may be linked to their past and how to stop letting your past determine your future.

My areas of specialty are parenting, anxiety, behavioral addictions, family of origin issues and dysfunction, and spirituality.

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, getting outside in nature, hiking, and visiting our North Carolina mountains.
