~Do you feel like you’re always on alert for criticism or disapproval from your friends, boss or partner? Doing anything to make them happy or make sure they like you?
~Do you feel competent and effective at work but discouraged and disappointed with your relationships?
~Do you tend to be most attracted to people who really are never there for you?
~Does it feel like life has no joy, but you thrive on excitement or find yourself constantly anxious?
These are very common challenges for people who grew up in a home where, for some reason, their parents were unable to meet their emotional needs. This occurs in families where there are struggles with chronic illness, special needs of a parent or sibling, mental illness of a parent, addictions, abuse or neglect.
Often we find that no matter what we change on the outside; a degree, a new job, a new home, a new relationship, a new fitness regime, we still end up feeling “not quite good enough” or even like a total failure.
We find ourselves repeating the same self-defeating behaviors over and over again, no matter how much we want to change.
I understand how the roots of the family we grew up in, our “family of origin”, impacts our choices and self-esteem as adults, and I can help.
I am passionate about helping my clients find freedom from the past, so they can be free to live the life they love, today.
